Letter | Vote for Justice Gonzalez

August 1, 2012 · 10:23 AM

On Aug. 7, voters will have the opportunity to re-elect to the Washington State Supreme Court one of the best jurists in the state — Steven Gonzalez.

Justice Gonzalez served for 10 years as a trial judge in King County Superior Court. In 2011, he received the prestigious “Judge of the Year Award” from the Washington State Bar Association.

I tried a case before him and found him to be one of the best judges I have encountered in my 38 years as a lawyer.

Justice Gonzalez is rated “exceptionally well-qualified” by both the King County Bar Association and the Tacoma Pierce County Association. He is endorsed by all the Supreme Court justices, 250 lower court judges, and both candidates for governor.

By contrast, his opponent is a solo practitioner with no judicial experience or other expertise which would qualify him to serve on the Supreme Court. This race will be elected in the primary on Aug. 7. Please vote for Justice Gonzalez.
