Letter | Changes to Island Crest Way causes back-ups

Re-laning Island Crest Way south of Merrimount is proving to have been a very bad idea. Reducing four lanes of automobile, truck and bus traffic to two lanes caused a dramatic backup of traffic far to the south of Island Park School. Vehicles attempting to enter ICW, to go in either direction, were backed up on the side streets. I saw absolutely no bicycles using the new bicycle lanes. Reducing ICW from four lanes to two was a very bad idea.
