Letter | Fire station levy: vote no
October 25, 2012 · 10:57 AM
Confusion exists over the South end fire station levy. We all appreciate and benefit from the Mercer Island Fire Department. But that doesn't translate into demolishing and building new a double-in-size fire station.
The city and Council show no statistics to back up the need for a new structure. Nor has there been any independent, objective cost analysis done regarding upgrading the current station. Without fiscal responsibility, government runs wild. Don't let that happen here. Vote no against the fire station levy.
