Scouts visit City Council

A letter to Councilmember Mike Cero, Mayor Bruce Bassett and the Mercer Island City Council and staff,

It was so much fun to meet with Councilman Cero and sit in the council chambers to learn what the city government does.

We especially liked being greeted by Mayor Bassett at the beginning of the council meeting, and were glad you listened to our important concerns.

We were relieved to learn that there won’t be an actual war if I-90 tolling begins, but a little disappointed that the council won’t take up our important cause of making elementary school recess start earlier.

Thanks again for taking the time to teach our youth how democracy and our city work.
