'Graffiti' is a reminder of community

April 29, 2014 · Updated 12:21 PM

I was shocked at Mr. Ritter’s criticism of the Rotary Half Marathon and what he called “graffiti.”  The directions for the runners are not, as he portrayed, “enormous spray painted arrows”.  In fact, we walk a piece of it daily and, to me, it is a reminder of how the community comes together to raise money for various charities, especially colon cancer.  It is a mammoth effort, and yearly I’m amazed how MI Rotary has everything picked up and trucked away before the sun goes down.
