Farmers Market
October 21, 2008 · Updated 4:09 PM
I am one of the many volunteers who has worked at the Farmers Market during the past months.
Today was the last market day of the season, and as I said “goodbye” to all of the vendors, there was nothing but praise: “This is the best organized market we have ever worked in,” and “I hope we will be invited back next year.”
And well-organized it was. I can only echo Roger Page, who wrote such a nice letter last week — thank you, my fellow volunteers, and a big thank-you to the organizers who thought up the idea and worked so hard to make it happen.
It was indeed a glorious two months of fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood and organic meat products, cheese and soups, pasta and freshly baked pizza, ice cream, cupcakes, European-type pastries from the “Little Prague” bakery and last, but not least, an abundance of fresh flowers. I can’t wait till next year!
