Help MIHS band win contest
January 28, 2009 · Updated 10:41 AM
Community of Mercer Island: the MIHS Marching Band is asking for your help. We have entered 102.5 KZOK’s School of the Rock competition, in which we and 43 other Washington high school bands submitted music videos. Visit www.schooloftherockcontest.com to check out all the bands’ videos, including ours.
So how can you help Mercer Island’s band place in the top 10 and get the chance to win $10,000? All you need are two thumbs, a cell phone and a good texting plan. The contest’s outcome is determined by text message voting, so here’s all we need to do: text “Rock26” (our band’s code) to 24300 every day until Feb. 12, the contest’s end. It’s that simple. And, even better, KZOK is allowing 10 texts per day per cell phone, so you can show your support for Mercer Island 10 times over. Spread the word. Text daily. We hope the small cost of sending a text message will turn into a greater benefit for this beloved community program.
So I ask you this, Mercer Island — have you texted Rock26 today?
On behalf of the MIHS Marching Band,
