By the end of this week, the ballots for our first all-mail election will arrive. I will miss not going to the polls, but I am hopeful that this election will both save money and increase voter turnout.

We will be making an important decision when our ballots arrive — identifying the final candidates for King County Executive. I will be marking my ballot for Fred Jarrett. Fred currently represents our district in the state Senate. He has served with dedication and excellence as our mayor, our legislator, on our School Board and on a variety of regional committees. He not only has the experience and background to be an excellent county executive, but he has carefully thought through how to put the county back on track. In difficult times, we need an intelligent, thoughtful and capable leader. I know that Fred is our best choice for this important job.

When your ballot arrives, I hope you will take the time to carefully review the qualifications of the candidates, and then join me in supporting Fred Jarrett for King County Executive.
