Katz memories

Your recent article on Doris Katz reminded me of my visits to their house a long time ago — assuming it is the same Katz!

As a young man, I delivered the morning paper to the Katzes. I never knew Doris, but her husband was a Peugeot collector, mechanic, tinkerer — kind of a mad scientist type — and had many of them in various states of assembly, or disassembly in the driveway and carport. I simply knew him as “Dr. Katz.” I was an avid cyclist at the time — still am — and Mr. Katz would talk to me and hand out bike parts from his son’s racing career when I came by to make my monthly collection.

Reading your article brought back some good memories.
