It is really a clear choice in the City Council election. Look at the respective track records of Dan Grausz and Ira Appelman. Dan has proven himself time and time again to be an effective consensus builder who finds common ground to serve all his constituents and get things done. His opponent criticizes or opposes just about everything that represents investing in the future well-being of our community and its citizens.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dan on several parks initiatives over the past couple years. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dan’s dedication to his Council position and his genuine care and concern for citizens of all ages and future health of Mercer Island. It is a tough job being a Councilman, yet Dan consistently brings forward good ideas and rallies people together to make effective decisions. And he truly enjoys his work serving the community!

This is a very important race that holds in the balance whether the City Council will continue to work in partnership with the community to continue making progressive change or risk becoming bogged down in contentious debate and bureaucracy.

We need to keep Dan on the Council.
