As usual, Mercer Island is over-studying the Merrimount/Island Crest problem. We South-enders need Island Crest Way as is, with a new four-way traffic light at Merrimount. Forget the “road diet.”

As to “few cars crawling up Merrimount,” in the Reporter Sept. 23, there are so very few east-west cross streets on the Island. The said traffic light would preserve this needed way across town to the library, churches, schools.
