Support for Grausz
October 13, 2009 · 1:37 PM
We are writing to express our emphatic support for Dan Grausz for City Council. The School Board, and the Island’s children, can always count on Dan to work toward implementing city support for schools, ball fields and social services. As the School Board’s representatives on the Ad Hoc Committee comprised of the mayor, Dan, Steve Litzow, the city manager, the superintendent and us, we have witnessed numerous occasions when Dan has developed creative solutions to problems and brought disparate parties together to resolve differences.
Dan’s constructive approach contrasts starkly with that of his opponent. Ira Appelman’s campaign seems based primarily on opposition to the actions of the current City Council and opposition to any measure that might raise money or support for essential services.
Dan’s effectiveness as a Councilmember is an outgrowth of his lifelong commitment to his career, his community and his values. Look deeply into the backgrounds and achievements of Dan Grausz and Ira Appelman, and the choice will be clear. A vote for Dan is a vote for Mercer Island’s children. We will be casting our ballots for Dan.
