Kindness of strangers

I want to acknowledge the kindness of several Mercer Islanders, whose names I didn’t get. I stepped off the curb and found myself lying face down on the concrete on 77th Avenue. I couldn’t get up.

A lady stopped her car and came to my aid, helped me to a bench and offered help. I assured her I was OK and that I had my cell phone if I needed help getting home.

I crossed to All the Best Pet Care, and as I entered, the help was wonderful (my face was bleeding). Customers, too, offered help. One lady drove me to the fire station, where I was examined and driven home. (Nothing was broken.)

My gratitude to these “strangers” is immeasurable. Their kindness overshadowed my black eyes and glasses crushed beneath a car where they lay in the street. Mercer Islanders rock!
