I read an op-ed article in the Reporter dated Nov. 23, regarding the need for residents to be self-reliant in preparing for emergency and storm-related events.

With that in mind, I thought I would offer that Puget Sound Energy has staff available to assist Island residents with product information and contractors to install standby generators.

This information is available without cost and can make the process a bit easier for your readers.

If you have any questions or readers who request further assistance, please call on me at (206) 604-5767.
