The Mercer Island Lions Club has roared loudly in support of sending the Mercer Island High School Marching Band to march in the 2011 London New Year’s Day Parade. The local civic group, best known for its annual Christmas tree sale in downtown Mercer Island, has made a generous donation of $1,000 to the band’s scholarship fund. The donation will help to ensure that all band members are able to make the trip. If you would like to learn more about the London trip, please visit our Web site at mihsband.com. Thank you, Lions, for supporting students and music education in our schools!
