How many people have to be hit in the crosswalk at 42nd and Island Crest before we do something about it? Last week’s incident involving a school child is not the first. That crosswalk is essentially a school crossing. Dozens of kids use it to get to and from the high school and to a designated IMS bus stop. We need to install flashing crosswalk lights like the ones at Island Park, or at the very least, crosswalk flags. How can we ignore the safety of these children? It’s time to make a change.
