Friends of Hoop, a top level AAU basketball program, is adding a girls program to its successful boys program this fall. Tryouts of the girls teams, which run fourth through ninth grade, will be held Sept. 13 and Sept. 15 at Bellevue College. The boys program will host tryouts on Sept. 7-9, also at Bellevue College.

The organization hopes to have teams in fourth through 11th grade competing at the highest level, locally and nationally. Each team will include between eight to 10 players. The teams will play approximately 40 to 50 games from October to early March. The cost has not yet been determined.

Girls in fourth, fifth and sixth grade will try out on Sept. 13 and Sept. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Seventh, eighth and ninth graders will try out on Sept. 13 and Sept. 15 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

For the boys teams, fourth through sixth grades will try out from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 7-9, and seventh through ninth grades will try out from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Anyone trying out is asked to arrive 30 minutes early to register. Questions can be sent to fohseattle@hotmail.com.
