Judo classes are available for Mercer Island children at the old Mercer Island Boys & Girls club location.

Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. and are $70 per month. Students must also purchase a $75 U.S. Judo membership, and get a judo uniform.

While the program still practices at the old Boys & Girls Club, Sensei Harold Yamada said if they move to the new PEAK the monthly dues will increase to $200 per month. The increase is due to a per hour charge for contractors.

For more information contact Yamada at (206) 618-5790.
