Mercer Island boys golf win KingCo medalist title

The Mercer Island boys golf team brought home the KingCo medalist title Monday, taking first place with 372 strokes, over second place Mount Si’s 399. The tournament was held at Snohomish Golf Course, with a par of 72.

All six members of the team qualified for districts.

Charlie Kern was first overall with a 69, while Crawford Leeds and Kyle Code tied for fifth, shooting a 74. Brandon Shin tied for seventh place, while George Jiranek tied for eighth overall and Kevin Liu was 11th.

The team plays at Harbour Point in the District tournament Monday, Oct. 18.
