The Mercer Island Youth Soccer Club’s U12 team, nicknamed Mercer Island Force, earned a second-place finish in the Washington State Founders Cup. The team lost to Crossfire in the championship match by penalty kicks.

Mercer Island Force played seven games in the tournament, allowing just one goal during those games and scored 13 of their own.

It was the team’s first year playing together, often times against other teams which have spent the last several seasons together.

The MIYSC U14 girls team recently won the state tournament.
