The Mercer Island boys soccer team earned it's first league win of the season, over Lake Washington. Mercer Island won 2-0 over the Kangs on Tuesday at home.

Spencer Ward struck first for the Islanders, assisted by Perrin Guyer in the 47 minute of the game. The 1-0 lead held until the 80 minute, when Jordan Morris connected to Jake Michael for a goal.

Islander goalie Nico Terentjev was credited with the shutout.

The week before the team beat Kennedy Catholic 2-0 and tied with Liberty for a 2-1-1 start to the spring season. The Islanders will travel to Juanita on Friday for another KingCo game.
