Three Mercer Island eighth grade students were recently selected to join the Washington state U-15 regional lacrosse team.

Katie Harris, Hannah Paborsky and Sally Carroll were nominated to try out by their Mercer Island coach late in March. There were 55 girls who attended tryouts from the area and 24 were chosen for the team, with five alternates.

The team, coached by Lakeside girls coach Jamie Asaka, will travel to Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the U-15 U.S. National girls lacrosse championships.

The trio has played together for the last three years and are current members of the Mercer Island 7th/8th grade team.
