25th annual Windermere Cup this weekend | Sports brief

The 25th annual Windermere Cup will take place this weekend, marking the opening of boating season.

On Saturday, May 7 beginning at around 10:20 a.m. the races on Montlake Cut will begin. The University of Washington will take on Cambridge University and Stanford.

Other races will include junior and masters participants from the Seattle area, followed by the boat parade.

Listen to a live stream of the event online at www.gohuskies.com and on 950 KJR FM.

Spectators can watch in person from the shores of Montlake Cut on Saturday. The free event includes parking available at the University of Washington lots surrounding the area.

Montlake Bridge will be closed from 9:40 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the event.
