Islanders help boat to Windermere Cup win

Two Mercer Islanders and members of the Mt. Baker Rowing varsity 8’s helped the team to a first-place finish at the Windermere Cup races on May 7.
Peter Lee and Patrick Schroedl, both students at Mercer Island High School, helped the boat cross the line .5 seconds ahead of Everett Rowing to take the win.
The team will go on to compete in the Northwest Regional Rowing Championships in Vancouver, Wash., May 20-22.
The Mt. Baker and Everett teams have shared first and second place finishes throughout the seasons.
Mt. Baker Rowing junior crew includes students in grades 8 through high school, and offers rowing teams for adults as well.
