The Mercer Island Yankees majors team recently won the Bellevue Mercer Island City Championship. The team includes: Christian Clarke, David Sims, Ian Renkes, Sam Rosenstein, Andrew Arvish, Brandon Fatheringill, head coach Bob Sims, Giovanni Rocha, Jack Smith, Justin Myers, Robert Teng, Ian Martin, Matt Boissoneault and assistant coach Brad Myers. - Contributed photo

The Mercer Island Little League majors team, the Yankees, recently won the Bellevue-Mercer Island City Tournament. The MI Yankees were undefeated, winning the title over the BW Rays in the championship game, 5-3. It’s the fourth consecutive year that a Mercer Island majors team has won the tournament.
