The Mercer Island Little League 11U All Star team took the state title on Sunday, July 24.

The team, which won the district title, beat the top team from District 10 Bonney Lake/Sumner in the championship game in Cheney, Wash. The Islanders won 7-3 to earn the title in six innings.

The team went 9-1 during the pst season, and enjoyed the hot Eastern Washington weather during the state tournament.

The team includes: Garrett Poore, Justin Ho, Ben Hauge, Parker Simpson, Tyrell Little, Matt Boissoneault, Jack Smith, Alex Shanks, Nikhil Nayar, Will Hamilton, Robert Weaver. The team is coached by Steve Poore, Andy Shanks and Peter Noone (not pictured).
