The Mercer Island Community and Events Center is now offering a special needs open play time.

The new drop-in gym program is for special needs children and teens ages 5 through 15, and is a chance for kids to play at the facility, while giving families and friends the chance to meet and have fun.

The open play time will be held every other Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the MICEC gym.

The open gym is on a drop-in basis only, and for Mercer Island residents the fee is $3.25. For non-residents it’s $4.50. The program is not staffed, so parent and caregiver supervision is required.

The MICEC is located at 8236 S.E. 24th Street. To learn more, visit www.mercergov.org/ccmv.
