New group of select soccer teams holding tryouts | Sports brief

A new group of youth soccer teams is starting on Mercer Island. The Islander FC that will be holding tryouts early in December. The teams, which include U8, U9, U10 boys and girls teams, will play other local select teams in a spring league.

During the first tryouts, over 60 kids came with another weekend of tryouts planned for early December.

This is the first premier league that does not require players to go off Mercer Island to participate. The teams train on Mercer Island and will play games at the Starfire complex in the spring.
