Mercer Island boys down Liberty | Boys basketball results

In their final home game of this year, the Mercer Island boys hosted Liberty, winning 68-44.
The team will travel next week to the Jared Cook Classic in Atlanta, Ga.
Against Liberty on Monday night, the Islanders fully controlled the game, despite trailing at the end of the first quarter 18-17. The Islanders defense held strong and kept the Patriots to just 28 points over the next three quarters while scoringing 23 in the third alone.
During the win, Kaleb Warner had the Islanders high in points with 13, while both Sam Cohn and Brian Miller had 11. Joe Rasmussen had eight points, as did Jack Shaddle. Sean Hughes posted five for the team, while Espen Platou added four and Chris Lawler and Nick Nordale had three each. Karsten Sherman had two.
The previous weekend the Islanders traveled to the Les Schwab Preview at Highline Community College where they played Benson Tech, a team from Portland, Ore. The Islanders won 55-48.
This time it was Miller with the team high of 15 points, followed by Cohn with 13 and Hughes and Rasmussen with seven each. Warner posted six for the Islanders, as Justen Altaras had three. Platou also scored three points for Mercer Island. Nordale scored one point for the team.
