Polar bear plunge at Mary Wayte Pool | Sports brief

All brave polar bear swimmers are invited to come test out the chilly waters in Mary Wayte Pool on Dec. 22.

The facilities boiler is being repaired during the week and it's the day day the pool is open before the Christmas holiday.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 22 swimmers can brave the cold water, or bring a wet suit and hang out.

Pool operators ask that anyone attending bring two non-perishable food items for the Mercer Island Food Pantry.
