Mercer Island notches win over Sammamish | Prep boys swimming results

The Mercer Island boys swimming team notched it’s first win after the unplanned break, thanks to last week’s snow storm. Against Sammamish, the Islanders won 98-69.

The team earned it’s first event win in the 200 medley relay, taking the top spot with Austin Ralph, Andrew Fukuda, Karl MacLane and Ian Caldwell in 1:46.63. In the 200 freestyle race, Dan Simons took first with a 1:50.76 time, while Kenny Trowbridge was second at 1:54.94.

In the 200 individual medley race Fukuda took the top finish in 2:15.62, while Reliegh Greutert was fourth in 2:6.68. MacLane took top honors in the 50 freestyle sprint in just 22.82, while Ralph was fourth in 23.99 seconds.

Caldwell won the butterfly race with a 59.68 time and Ralph took the win in the 100 freestyle event in 51.77.

Tanner Martinez notched an individual win in the 500 freestyle race with a 5:35.63 time, while Simons was first in the backstroke race.

The Islander team of MacLane, Caldwell, Matthew Hansen and Trowbridge won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.76.

Trowbridge earned a personal win in the breast stroke race with a 1:09.35 time, while the team took second in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:36.52.
