After several days of delayed games thanks to weather, the Mercer Island girls fastpitch team finally got to play a game. The Islanders hosted defending 3A state champions Juanita on Tuesday afternoon, losing 16-0.

The Rebels were up 12-0 at the end of the first inning, but the Islanders kept the team from scoring again until the top of the third, when the Rebels added three more runs. Juanita extended their lead by one in the fourth for 16 points.

Mercer Island will take on Liberty on Thursday, March 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the South Mercer Playfields, before hosting Lake Washington on Monday, March 26.
