Five Mercer Island residents and members of the U13 Dragons baseball team recently traveled to Arizona for a tournament.

Eric Dreyer, Scott Ramseyer, Luke Boxem, Brady Fritz and Justin Meyers helped the team to a second place finish overall at the Triple Crown Spring Championships over St. Patrick's Day weekend.

The tournament consisted of 36 teams throughout out the Western U.S. which played in pool play for two days before the single elimination tournament.

The Dragons went 2-1 during pool play to earn a middle seed going into the final day. The team won three straight games to earn a spot in the title match. In the championship, facing a team from San Diego, the Dragons fell 7-2 for second place.
