Mercer Island girls beat Sammamish | Girls prep tennis

The Mercer Island girls tennis team picked up a conference win on Tuesday afternoon, beating Sammamish 6-0 before the final match was suspended for rain.

In the singles competition, Lydia Venditti beat Lydia Rebrik 6-0, 6-0, Melanie Lee beat Marine LeJonk 6-0, 6-1, Cariss Ham beat Elizabeth Kizmenko 6-0, 6-0 and Caroline Dillon beat Ella Kismenko 6-0, 6-2.

In the doubles matches, Sophia Gage and Gabby Venditti beat Sarah Baker and Demeri Horton 6-0, 6-1, while Ashley Larson and Erin Crandall beat Ashley Wall and Maha Ghandour 6-0, 6-3.

Julia Glick and Kajal Tiwary were on their way to beating Helen Yang and Tina Lin 4-2 before the rain got too heavy.

Weather permitting, the Islanders will host Kamiak this afternoon, Wednesday, March 28 at MIHS, before taking on Lake Washington on Thursday, March 29 at 3:45 p.m. at MIHS.
