For the second time this week the Mercer Island boys soccer team earned a win over a KingCo opponent. The Islanders beat Interlake 5-1.

The game started with a Jake Michael goal, assisted by Jordan Morris in the 13th minute. In the 29th minute Logan Barton, again assisted by Morris, scored to make it a 2-0 match.

Interlake’s lone goal in the game came from Nate Lafavour scored in the 44th minute to make it 2-1. Mercer Island quickly responded six minute later when Morris connected with Alberto Perez. Morris scored his own goal in the 54th minute, followed by the final point of the night, when Michael passed to Jamie Lungmus in the 79th minute to make it 5-1.

The Islanders will travel to play Liberty on Friday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m.
