Mercer Island fastpitch beats Hazen | Prep fastpitch results

The Mercer Island fastpitch team earned a second win this season, beating Hazen Monday evening in a non-conference game. The final score was 12-2 for the Islanders.

Mercer Island earned a quick lead, up 2-0 at the end of the first inning, but neither team scored for the next two innings. It wasn’t until the bottom of the fourth that Mercer Island exploded with six runs to take the 8-0 lead. In the sixth, and final, inning of the game, the Islanders added four more runs, while Hazen scored two.

Mercer Island had 14 hits and no errors during the game, while Hazen had five hits and two errors.

The Islanders will travel to Liberty on Tuesday, April 17 for a 4:30 p.m. KingCo game.
