Mercer Island blanks Lake Washington | Girls prep tennis

The Mercer Island girls tennis team earned a powerful win over Lake Washington last Friday, winning 7-0.

In the single competition, Lydia Venditti beat Jess Lund 7-5, 6-1, while her sister Gabby Venditti beat Jelena Aleksov 6-0, 6-0. Melanie Lee beat Amanda Levin 6-1, 6-2 and Jamie Mounger beat Taylor Lipking 6-1, 6-2.

In the doubles competition Kajal Tiwary and Ashley Larson won their games 6-1, 6-2 over Shada Shomali and Marissa Kirle, while Sarah Kahan and Lark Ruesch beat Melissa Skonepa and Stephanie Lakic 6-1, 6-1. Rachel Van Gelder and Julie Hanash beat Lake Washington’s Kim Kohman and Leah Talkor 6-0, 6-1.
