Mercer Island outlasts Interlake | Girls prep tennis

Rapidly making up for lost time this spring thanks largely to the wet weather, the Mercer Island girls tennis team played Monday afternoon, beating Interlake 7-0.
In the single competition Nora Tan beat Isabelle Long 6-0, 6-0, while Lydia Venditti beat Maggie Lecke 6-0, 6-1, Melanie Lee beat Melissa Long 6-4, 6-1 and Julia Glick beat Iryna Strenytska 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, the combo of Sophia Gage and Gabby Venditti beat Skreya Singh and Kendall Watanabe 6-1, 6-1. Kajal Tiwary and Sarah Kahan beat Hannah Smilansky and CeCe Landau 6-0, 6-0 and in the final match Erin Crandall and Carissa Ham beat Interlake’s Julia Liu and Vickie Zlatinova 6-3, 6-1.
The Islanders will travel to play Juanita on Tuesday afternoon, while Interlake will host Mount Si on Tuesday.
