Mercer Island boys dominate Eastlake | Prep boys lacrosse

In a dominating win, the Mercer Island boys lacrosse team beat Eastlake on Tuesday night. The Islanders won 11-6.

The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first quarter, but Mercer Island added a goal in the second to have the 2-1 lead going into the second half. Both team scored three goals in the third, but the Islanders pulled away in the fourth, scoring six goals to Eastlake’s two.

Connor Bernal had four goals in the game, with two assists and four ground balls. Steen Swestedt added two more goals for hte team, with two ground balls, while Peter Mahony posted a goal and six ground balls. Hayden Reisman had a goal, an assist and four ground balls. Teammate Mikey Schwartz had a goal, an assist and three gound balls, while Grant Priesler added a goal, an assist and four ground balls. Goalie Carlos Barrios had five saves during the game.

The Islanders will play O.E.S. in a non-league game on Friday, April 27 at 8 p.m. at MIHS.
