Mercer Island falls to Liberty | Prep baseball results

The Mercer Island baseball team split their games last week, beating Interlake Wednesday before falling to Liberty at home on Friday. The final score was 5-3 for the Patriots.

Liberty had the early lead 1-0, before adding three runs in the top of the third to hold a 3-0 lead on Mercer Island. The Islanders would go on to score in the bottom of th fourth and sixth, but not enough to win the game.

During the game, Nick Holstead was 2-4 at the plate, while Matt Orehek was 1-4 with one run, and Alex Himstead was 1-3 with one run. Keegan Ogard scored once and was 1-2 at bat, while Mack Schlamp was 1-3.

William Masnfield pitched four innings for the Islanders, allowing five hits and four runs. Liberty’s Ben Wessel pitch for five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three runs.

The Islanders will travel to Sammamish Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. game, before traveling to a 3:30 p.m. game on Thursday at Steve Cox Field against Seattle Prep.
