Mercer Island beats Lake Washington | Prep boys lacrosse

The Mercer Island boys lacrosse team earned their 12th win of the season, after beating Lake Washington 7-3 on Monday night.
The Islanders, still No. 1 in the Southwest conference, started the game down 1-0 at the end of the first quarter. The teams were evenly matched throughout the second, with the Islanders scoring two, and Lake Washington adding one more to be tied 2-2 at the end of the first half.
In the second half, Mercer Island uped their tempo, scoring three in the third quarter, followed by two more in the final minutes to take the lead and the win.
Hayden Riesman had two goals in the win, with five ground balls, while Carlos Barrios made eight saves for hte Islanders.
The Islanders have just three regular season games left this spring, all home games. The team will host Bellevue on Friday, May 5 at 8 p.m. before playing Eastside Catholic on May 8 at 8 p.m. and Lake Tapps on Friday, May 11, also at 8 p.m.
