Eight MI Select baseball teams participate in MayDay tournament

Eight Mercer Island select baseball teams traveled to Yakima during the final weekend of April to participate in the MayDay Mayhem baseball tournament.

Three teams from Mercer Island brought home the championship, while one earned a third place finish.

The 12U Thunder team includes: Carson Sandwith, Garrett Poore, Carter Melick, Justin Ho, Matt Boissoneault, Greg Fuchs, Nikhil Nayar, Jack Smith, Parker Simpson, Alex Shanks, Robert Weaver, Manager Brock Mansfield. The team is coached by Steve Poore and Robin Fuchs.

The 11U Thunder includes: Lukas Ayan, Graham Cartwright, Teague Conder, Liam Dammeier, Evan Doty, Robert Dreyer, Andrew Jenkins, Cole Miller, Matthew Nguyen, Grant Stading, Quinn Zakahi and manager Keenan Conder. The team is coached by Kurt Dammeier and Zack Zakahi.

The 9U Thunder includes: Nathan Buchan, Tyler Butson, Evan Dickstein, Matthew Feldman, Caiden Fukano, Wesley Ho, Elias Malakoff, Max Malakoff, Jack Mattox, Paul Noone, Jack Shoop, and Tripp White. The team is coached by Peter Noone, Todd Butson and Travis White.

The 9U Lightning team, which finished third at the tournament, includes: Alex Arron, Mitchie Ashberg, Will Atkinson, Ben Davis, Camdon Gierke, Michael Lee, Will MacCormack, Devan Mai, Matthew Nimmo, Parker Schally, Jack Varney, Henry Watson and manager Brian Gierke. They are coached by Jim Watson and Gary Nimmo.

The 12 U Lightning team also participated in the tournament, taking fourth in their bracket.
