Mercer Island begins postseason | Prep girls water polo

The Mercer Island girls water polo team began the post season with their first state contest on Monday afternoon at Mary Wayte pool. The team won their first game Monday against OAC.

The Islanders qualified for the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 6-5 record. In the final game of the regular season, the team won 10-5.

The final game was also a chance to recognize seniors Dani Osman and Mikayla Fletcher.

The Islanders will continue the state tournament with a Wednesday evening game at the Mercer Island Country Club.
