Mercer Island wins KingCo tournament | Girls prep golf

The Mercer Island girls golf team capped another regular season with a KingCo tournament win on Tuesday.
The Islanders finished the league season with a 10-0 record, winning their fifth straight KingCo league trophy.
Tuesday, competing at Willows Run Golf Course, the team won with 419 strokes, while second place Bellevue had 483 strokes.
Individually, Chelsea Saelee was the tournament medalist with a 75, while Haley Chinn finished in second with 81. Course par is 72. Jolie Shen was fourth for the Islanders, shooting 85, while Jacqueline Bendrick and Madison Pearson tied for fifth after posting an 89.
Mercer Island will compete next Monday in the SeaKing district tournament at Riverbend in Kent. The top qualifiers will move forward to the state tournament in Spokane in late May.
