Mercer Island High School junior and boys soccer team captain Jordan Morris has been named the Washington boys soccer Gatorade Player of 2012.
A selection process, done by the ESPNHS team, picks winners based on their athletic production, impact on the 2011 season, high school achievement and personal character.
Morris, also the KingCo league's MVP this spring, has scored 21 goals this season, helping the Islanders to the 3A state tournament.
Morris also plays for Eastside FC. He's committed verbally to play for Stanford University.
