Mercer Island golf moves into round two | State 3A tournament

The Mercer Island boys and girls golf teams wrapped up day one of the 3A state tournament on Tuesday afternoon in Spokane.

Chelsea Saelee finished 12th after the first round, shooting a 78, while Haley Chinn was 15th with an 80, 10 over par at Esmeralda Golf Course.

Jacqueline Bendrick was tied for 28th shooting an 85 after day one. Jolie Shen shot a 90 on day one, to tied for 40th.

The team starts round two this morning.

In the boys tournament, James Gendreau finished day one shooting an 81 to tie for 39th place going into the second round.
