The Crossfire 97 ENCL (Elite Clubs National League) recently won the Manchester United Cup U.S. championships soccer tournament over Memorial Day weekend.

Mercer Island eighth grader Amanda Wall is a member of the team.

The tournament took place on the Nike campus in Oregon. The U14 tournament is by invitation only, due to a strong national field. The winning team earns a spot in the Gothia Cup held in Sweden in July.

The Crossfire 97 team advanced out of pool play after earning three shouts, and beating the San Diego Surf in the finals 1-0.
