The seventh grade girls ECBA Thunder basketball team, with two Mercer Islanders on the court, took first place in the Hoop It Up tournament held in early June. The tournament took place at Tahoma High School.

Aolani Calderon and Gracie Cannon are both members of the team that is coached by Regi Raban.
