The Mercer Island boys varsity basketball team won the Kentridge Summer Tip-Off classic tournament over the first weekend in June. It’s the third time in the last six years the team has won the tournament.

Mercer Island beat Auburn-Riverside, Kentwood, Tahoma and East Valley in pool play, before beating Auburn in the title game by over 30 points.

The team includes: Joe Rasmussen, Nick Nordale, Jake Shaddle, Espen Platou, Nikhil Misra, Jack Counihan, Kaleb Warner, David Emanuels, Will Taylor and Alex Emanuels. The team is coached by Gavin Cree, Kevin Tempeset and Marshall Jamieson.
