Mariners catcher Jesus Montero visited the Mercer Island branch of Walgreens on Tuesday afternoon, signing autographs.

Several hundred people showed up to have baseballs, pictures and more signed by the catcher. Grant Stading, 12, and friend James Kirkmire, 12, said it was pretty cool to meet him and get their baseballs signed.

Montero, who was traded to the Mariners earlier this season from the Yankees, has a .237 season average, hitting a home run and going 2-4 at bat during the Mariners game against Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 2.
